The company&#8217;s 4,125th battery swap station, at Sayram Lake in Xinjiang, closed the last gap on the corridor, which which officially completed the route on September 26, 2026, ahead of Chairman William Li confirming the milestone at <a href=\"https:\/\/news.metal.com\/newscontent\/104135088-nio-deploys-4125-battery-swapping-stations-forming-8-gwh-energy-network-across-china\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the company&#8217;s PowerUP 2026 event on September 27<\/span><\/a>.<\/p><p>According to NIO, the route runs 3,605 kilometers from Xi&#8217;an in the east to Khorgos, a China-Kazakhstan border port in the west, and is served by 33 swap stations.<\/p><p>The milestone says something about where <a href=\"https:\/\/batteryswapstation.com\/id\/battery-swapping-technology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">teknologi penukaran baterai<\/span><\/a> has arrived. For passenger cars, swapping now extends from city stations to an intercity trunk route across northwest China. For light electric vehicles, it works at the other end of the trip, inside the city, where riders make short, frequent journeys. The swap station at the Xingxingxia service area, the first stop after entering Xinjiang, is described by NIO as the world&#8217;s first zero-carbon, off-grid solar-storage-swap station. <a href=\"https:\/\/cnevpost.com\/2026\/09\/23\/nio-opens-1st-fully-solar-powered-swap-station\/\"><u>CnEVPost<\/u><\/a>\u00a0reports that it meets all of its electricity needs through solar generation and energy storage, without relying on the power grid.<\/p><ul><li>Photovoltaic generation is its sole energy source.<\/li><li>On-site storage allows 24-hour operation.<\/li><li>It closes a loop of solar generation, on-site storage and battery swapping without a grid connection.<\/li><li>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/eletric-vehicles.com\/nio\/nio-opens-first-solar-powered-off-grid-battery-swap-station-in-china\/\"><u>eletric-vehicles.com&#8217;s report on NIO&#8217;s announcement<\/u><\/a>, the system switches automatically between solar, storage and an emergency mode during prolonged cloudy weather.<\/li><\/ul><p>The energy concept travels well: where the grid is weak or absent, a swap facility can be powered by on-site solar and storage instead of a high-capacity grid connection.
