Au cours du processus de charge et de d\u00e9charge, les ions hydrog\u00e8ne se d\u00e9placent entre les \u00e9lectrodes positives et n\u00e9gatives, r\u00e9alisant ainsi le stockage et la lib\u00e9ration de l'\u00e9nergie.<\/p><p>\u00c9quation de la r\u00e9action chimique de charge et de d\u00e9charge<br \/>Electrode positive : Ni(OH)\u2082 + OH- \u21cc NiOOH + H\u2082O + e-<br \/>\u00c9lectrode n\u00e9gative : M + H\u2082O + e- \u21cc MHab + OH-<br \/>R\u00e9action totale : Ni(OH)\u2082 + M \u21cc NiOOH + MH<\/p><p>Note : M repr\u00e9sente l'alliage de stockage d'hydrog\u00e8ne, et Hab repr\u00e9sente les atomes d'hydrog\u00e8ne adsorb\u00e9s.<\/p><p>Pendant la charge, l'\u00e9nergie \u00e9lectrique fournie par l'alimentation externe entra\u00eene la r\u00e9action \u00e9lectrochimique, et l'hydroxyde de nickel de l'\u00e9lectrode positive perd des \u00e9lectrons, subit une r\u00e9action d'oxydation et forme de l'oxyg\u00e8ne d'hydroxyde de nickel \u00e0 haute valence. Dans le m\u00eame temps, l'alliage de stockage d'hydrog\u00e8ne \u00e0 l'\u00e9lectrode n\u00e9gative absorbe des ions d'hydrog\u00e8ne pour former de l'hydrure m\u00e9tallique.
