Pero la atenci\u00f3n mundial se dispar\u00f3 en 2016, cuando Uber lanz\u00f3 su iniciativa \"Uber Elevate\", la primera visi\u00f3n estructurada de una red de movilidad a\u00e9rea urbana. Al posicionar los eVTOL como soluci\u00f3n a la congesti\u00f3n urbana, Uber desencaden\u00f3 una oleada de investigaci\u00f3n y desarrollo entre gigantes aeroespaciales, fabricantes de autom\u00f3viles, empresas tecnol\u00f3gicas y startups.<\/p><p>Sin embargo, las lagunas tecnol\u00f3gicas, normativas y de modelos de negocio imped\u00edan la comercializaci\u00f3n real de los eVTOL. El gran avance lleg\u00f3 en 2024, cuando el EHang EH216-S de China se convirti\u00f3 en el primer eVTOL de pasajeros del mundo en recibir la certificaci\u00f3n de aeronavegabilidad y realizar vuelos comerciales de demostraci\u00f3n en Guangzhou y Hefei. Poco despu\u00e9s, la alianza de Joby Aviation con Uber proporcion\u00f3 otra v\u00eda clara hacia el mercado.<\/p><p>En agosto de 2025, Joby adquiri\u00f3 el negocio de pasajeros del operador de helic\u00f3pteros Blade por $125 millones y lleg\u00f3 a un acuerdo con Uber para integrar los viajes a\u00e9reos en la aplicaci\u00f3n Uber en 2026.
