Pero hay una bater\u00eda de litio que se carga antes de que te acabes el caf\u00e9, dura d\u00e9cadas m\u00e1s que tu coche y no se incendia aunque la atravieses con un clavo.<\/p><p>Se llama <strong>bater\u00eda de titanato de litio (LTO)<\/strong>.<\/p><p>A pesar de sus asombrosas especificaciones (m\u00e1s de 25.000 ciclos, carga en 6 minutos y funcionamiento seguro entre -40 \u00b0C y 60 \u00b0C), LTO sigue siendo un nicho de mercado. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9? Por dos razones: menor densidad energ\u00e9tica y mayor coste inicial. Pero en aplicaciones en las que la seguridad, la longevidad y el rendimiento a temperaturas extremas importan m\u00e1s que la autonom\u00eda, LTO est\u00e1 ganando silenciosamente.<\/p><p>En este art\u00edculo, eliminaremos la jerga y le mostraremos exactamente c\u00f3mo funciona LTO, d\u00f3nde destaca y si las ventajas y desventajas tienen sentido para su pr\u00f3ximo proyecto o cat\u00f3dicos, las bater\u00edas de titanato de litio se denominan as\u00ed por el material de su \u00e1nodo: titanato de litio (Li\u2084Ti\u2085O\u2081\u2082). Esta elecci\u00f3n \u00fanica del \u00e1nodo confiere a las bater\u00edas de LTO sus caracter\u00edsticas distintivas.<\/p><p>Una bater\u00eda LTO utiliza titanato de litio (Li\u2084Ti\u2085O\u2081\u2082) como \u00e1nodo, que tiene un potencial de electrodo de aproximadamente 1,55 V frente a Li\u207a\/Li. El voltaje nominal de la pila depende del material cat\u00f3dico emparejado con ella.<\/p><p>Por ejemplo, el emparejamiento de LTO con un c\u00e1todo de \u00f3xido de manganeso de litio (LMO) produce una tensi\u00f3n nominal de unos 2,4 V, mientras que el emparejamiento con un c\u00e1todo de fosfato de hierro de litio (LFP) produce unos 1,9 V.
